Dylan

Dylan is a completely mad, 13¾ years old English Springer Spaniel. He is the local su-paw-star known for his luscious locks and outrageously friendly and outgoing behaviour.

He loves swimming, running on the beach and generally having as much doggy fun as possible. Dylan lives with his brother DJ and their human mum and dad in Oxfordshire. They spend most weekends at the beach.

How does it feel to be the star of My Haven, The Beach Hut 1000 piece puzzle?

With paws like these, I am paw-fect to be a star.

Have you been modelling for long?

Do you have to ask? Sometimes it feels like I have been doing this fur-ever.

We’ve heard one of your favourite toys has snuck its way into the puzzle image. Which toy is it and why?

It's the beach ball. Mum throws it for my brother and I, and sometimes it can be a little far-fetched for me. We both love playing with it and we take it everywhere with us.

Were you able to resist the bacon sandwich we can see on the table in the beach hut?

With a brother like mine, I had no chance of eating it! DJ eats anything …. And very fast too!
I never got a chance. To be fair, my favourite food is really Pup-eroni pizza and pup-corn!

How were you paid?

What? Paid? They were going to pay me for this!
Woof …. I just went for a long run on the beach. It was really just another day at the paw-ffice!
Thinking about it, perhaps I need to renegotiate the terms of my leash.

What’s your secret to those soft curly locks?

It's a lovely shampoo I picked up at the re-tail store of course. I just wash and go and it really hits the spot. Love the oh-natural look.

How long did you have to pose?

Too long. I had a Bark-B-Q paw-ty to go to on the beach. The Beagles were playing and they really turned up the sub-woof-ers.
You could hear us howling for miles.

Do you think it’s a realistic impression of you?

I think Steve Read did an amazing job, I mean, look at me, I’m so handsome. Since the puzzle launched, the pup-arazzi are always about, hiding in every bush I go to “investigate”...

Have you done the puzzle yet and if so, how many doggy hours did you spend pawing it together?

Far too many! I was exhausted afterwards! But I kept going and got it done, because with a little time and effort, anything is paw-sible.

How has fame changed you?

It hasn’t, I’m still crazy. Felt a little ruff the next day but I was mutts about the experience.

What advice would you give other pets looking to break into puzzle modelling?

If any doggies feel they have the paw-tential to be a model, I found it really helped me get into the zone by doing a puzzle or two beforehand. As long as someone doesn’t steal the last piece!
Just be yourself but ideally don’t do it with your brother – they always try and steal the limelight! He is barking mad and we always have such fun together.

Dougal

Dougal is a much-loved family pet and lives with his human mum and dad in Oxfordshire. He loves gnawing on bones, playing with all the young children in his human family and chasing round the garden. Most of all, he loves sleeping in the warm afternoon sun, and can easily lose a few hours every day curled up.

His favourite words are "walkies" and "treats" and whenever anyone is cooking, Dougal is always at the ready to help clean up any spillages.

How does it feel to be the star of The Beach Hut?

Pawsome!

Have you been modelling for long?

Only since last year when I had my special collar and lead made for me. Think I’m a natural

We’ve heard one of your favourite toys has snuck its way into the puzzle image. Which toy is it and why?

The blue octopus is definitely a favourite because it’s all squishy and easy for me to chew.

Were you able to resist the bacon sandwich?

My human mummy and daddy won’t let me eat bacon as I’ve got a delicate tummy.

How were you paid?

I wasn’t, but I did get my very own puzzle.

What’s your secret to those soft curly locks?

Lots of special doggy fur products and a good brush every night.

How long did you have to pose?

Pose? That’s me being normal, I love the camera.

Do you think it’s a realistic impression of you?

Definitely. I’m a handsome boy, aren’t I?

How many doggy hours did you spend pawing it together?

Well, however long it was, it felt seven times longer for me in doggy hours.

How has fame changed you?

Everybody loves me, I’m such a cutie. Now that I’m so famous, I expect my humans to hand-feed me every night
